Day 11 of the 4 Hour Body

After a late night I still woke up early (dam it!), although was feeling refreshed. Did my Daily Morning Routine and then into a protein shake.

Prepped my Greg’s Porridge so looking forward to downing that in 30-60 mins. My weight has gone down a bit, almost 3kg from my heaviest weigh in. Could be water weight has gone, deviating from my diet yesterday or the fact that while out I couldn’t keep eating. Time will tell, still have 17 more days of this experiment and plenty of opportunity to grow.

    Lunch was Greg’s Salad.

Dinner was a biggie! I sliced some potato, eggplant and zucchini thinly, sprinkled: pepper, salt, mild curry powder, oregano, rosemary, paprika and turmeric with some olive oil in the over. Smashed that. Then Greg’s Veggie Stew followed by a big bowl of Greg’s Porridge.

Had a cup of tea and now procrastinating while doing some research looking for wind and watching docos.

I went down to St Kilda West to go kiting, but the wind just didn’t have enough oomph to bother going out. Might just need to wait until Monday instead of chasing the wind.

    Fitbit Aria Scales Daily Data:

    • Morning Pre-Poo weight: 74kg
    • Morning Post-Poo weight: 74.1kg (an hour into the morning and after my protein shake finally success)

  • Day 10 of the 4 Hour body

Day 10 of the 4 Hour body

Woke a little early this morning after not being able to sleep, so I listened to a prodcast from ATP Science on ZMST (fell asleep super quick, thanks Matt).

Did my Daily Morning Routine, although this morning my cold shower seemed a little colder. 2 minutes of counting my breaths slowly, but surely.

Knocked down a protein shake and prepped some of Greg’s Porridge (super simple: boil the kettle, put 3 spoons of chia seeds and 3 spoons or rolled wheat flakes into a bowl, sprinkle some cinnamon and nutmeg, then poor the hot water on top about 2-3 cm above the mix and I’ll let this sit for a couple/few hours before eating).

Ate brunch at Oscar Cooper (Eggs Benedict with kale and mushrooms), followed by Greg’s Porridge (so much better letting it soak for a couple/few hours).

For mid afternoon lunch I ate Greg’s Veggie Stew with wild black rice, sprinkled with some nutritional yeast (I still have no idea how much I should be sprinkling on).

Can wait to do some exercise today. It’s been almost 3 days now 🙁

Almost threw up on my last rep of each exercise. Workout B  was tough.

Had protein shake, then off to a party where I had pan fried lamb gnocchi and a few glasses of soda water.

    Fitbit Aria Scales Daily Data:

    • Morning Pre-Poo weight: 74.7kg
    • Morning Post-Poo weight: 74.3kg (this was a guess as my stupid scales didn’t sync correctly)
    • Bedtime weight: 74.7kg (not much movement today)
  • Day 9 of the 4 Hour Body

Day 9 of the 4 Hour Body

A good nights sleep last night after my minor leg surgery. Woke to my Daily Morning Routine before a protein shake. Think I might make a little espresso before making lunch and heading to work.

I think I need to put Greg’s Porridge in the fridge overnight on a regular basis. I put some in the fridge yesterday to take to work, but ended up eating it early… so bloody yummy! For reference I ate Greg’s Porridge around 11AM.

I feel like all I do is eat. Lunch around 1:30pm if Greg’s Salad.

Early dinner of Greg’s Veggie Stew with lentils, red kidney beans and chickpeas.

Then has a protein shake, followed by more porridge at night.

Day 8 of the 4 Hour Body

This morning I have a mini surgery to remove a blood spot on my right thigh that has been there for about 15 years. Time to say goodbye to it.

Standard Daily Morning Routine before a protein shake and walk to the clinic to have this blood spot removed. I was planning on going kiting this afternoon, but they told me no exercise for 1 week (especially legs) and no swimming. Still undecided if I will go as I can just wear a full wetsuit and waterproof the dressing some more. I’ll see how I feel after the anaesthetic wears off.

I also pick up my weekly veggie box from PEACE Farm this afternoon. Looking forward to seeing what goodies are in this weeks box.

Greg’s Porridge after I got back from the clinic. Not sure how I feel about this bandage on my leg! I’m supposed to train legs in 2 days (think I might forget the doctor’s orders ).

Ate Greg’s Salad before heading to a meeting. Followed by some homemade baked potato chips (5 potatoes, sliced thinly, sprinkle: pepper, salt, oregano, rosmary, turmeric, mild curry powder, sweet paprika and cayenne pepper on top, with some olive oil and put into an over of around 200degrees for 20-25 mins or until crisp).

Then made a fresh Greg’s Veggie Stew with quinoa, followed by a protein shake. Wowsers I’m full!

    Fitbit Aria Scales Daily Data:

    • Morning Pre-Poo weight: 74.6kg
    • Morning Post-Poo weight: 73.6kg
    • Bedtime weight: 76.7kg (after toilet stop before bed came down to 76.2kg)
  • Day 7 of the 4 Hour Body

Day 7 of the 4 Hour Body

Woke for the usual Daily Morning Routine. Looking forward to training tonight as two full days between training is such a foreign feeling for me these days.

Usual food story today, Protein Shake, Greg’s Porridge, followed by a soy latte and then Greg’s Veggie Stew with quinoa, lentils and red kidney beans.

Went down to Albert Park lake to train Workout A. That was tough! Ended up adding some handstand work at the end as I haven’t done these for so long.

Home for a protein shake, Greg’s Salad, more of Greg’s Porridge followed by some creatine before bed (I think I keep missing noting that I have creating in the morning and before bed).

All this eating is really making me full! Feel a bit like a balloon sometimes.

    • Morning Pre-Poo weight: 74.6kg
    • Morning Post-Poo weight: 73.4kg

  • Day 6 of the 4 Hour Body

Day 6 of the 4 Hour Body

How good is sleep!! Managed to get over 8 hours last night. The usual Daily Morning Routine, then a protein shake and a soy latte before heading to the city for a meeting. Ended up eating some pumpkin with quinoa and sweet potato with couscous (or the other way around), followed by a soy latte.

Then, ate Greg’s Veggie Stew with lentils and red kidney beans, followed by Greg’s porridge. About to eat again. Super hungry all the bloody time!!

Wowsers, another huge pot of Greg’s Veggie Stew with lentils and red kidney beans (luckily it tastes so good). This time I remembered to add some nutritional yeast on top.

Finished off with a protein shake. Weighed myself before bed (will reveal this at the end of the first week).

    Fitbit Aria Scales Daily Data:

    • Morning Pre-Poo weight: 73.9kg
    • Morning Post-Poo weight: forgot this one
    • Bedtime weight: 74.9kg
  • Day 5 of the 4 Hour Body

Day 5 of the 4 Hour Body

Started to feel the aftermath of yesterday’s exercise. NoDaily Morning Routine yet, will do it later in the day.

There was supposed to be a strong northerly hitting Rosebud, so I got up, skipped my morning routine, make Greg’s Porridge to take with me and had Greg’s Protein shake. Rosebud was dead, so ended up at Chelsea. Did an hour session before heading home.

After cleaning my gear I had a 2 minute cold shower to start ticking off Greg’s Daily Routine items.

Had another Greg’s Porridge and also ate some leftovers of Greg’s Veggie Stew with 130g of Tempeh (eaten straight from the packet).

Off to Terra Madre to buy some supplies for the week.

Dinner so far, ended up being baked potato and egg plant sprinkled with cracked pepper, celtic sea salt, oregano, rosmary, turmeric, sweek paprika, curry powder and a sprinkle of olive oil.

I did cook a big put of Greg’s Veggie Stew, which I’ll eat a bit later before bed. Super tired and ready for bed at 9PM (super early).

Had a Protein shake and mini porridge before bed. Also finished the missing items from my Daily Morning Routine.

    • Morning Pre-Poo weight: 72.9kg

Day 4 of the 4 Hour Body

The last three days I’ve developed a runny nose. It usually happens each time after taking L-Glutamine. So from today I’ll just take it before/after training and see how I go (today is training day woohoo).

Started today with my Daily Morning Routine, protein shake and then a trip to Prahran Market to buy some bananas, tempeh and tofu.

After the market I ate Greg’s Porridge (I did put the chia seeds and wheat flakes into a pot with water to soak while I sent to the market).

Next up will be Workout B. It’s been 3 days since training and I must admit I’m not a fan of working out so little, as the buzz and energy you get from training is amazing. But, in keeping with this experiment, I get another month of eating tonnes of food and minimal training to see if this things works.

Wowsers! Workout B almost made me throw up on the last reps. Think I’ll add more kettle bell swings in next time and push it to 75. I did 30, had a small break then another 20.

Took some l-glutamine after my workout and will check if my nose starts running again. It ran like a crazy man when I went to the market earlier in the day.

Another beach session today. 37 degrees in Melbourne with overnight low of around 26 degrees calls for air conditioning. Had a protein shake on the way down to the beach.

Greg’s Veggie Stew for dinner with chickpeas and red kidney beans. Then finished off with a mini-porridge as I was super hungry.

Let’s starting to feel the burn before bed. Thinking of heading to Rosebud in the morning for a little kiting session. Will see if I can walk tomorrow 🙂

Almost forgot my creatine before bed. On it now!

The starts (as expected) with my Daily Morning Routine.

Sore, sore and sore. Ate some more. Today mixed up Greg’s Salad and Greg’s Veggie Stew. The rest was the same.

I’ve had to roll on my foam roller a few times today and also roll my shoulders and back with a hard la-cross style ball. Bloody hurts like hell!

Did go down to Elwood beach for a swim a with Alex and Kostas. Such a beautiful evening.

Day 2 of the 4 Hour Body

Ground hog day. The day started with my Daily Morning Routine.

Then eat, eat and eat! That’s basically the gist of today. I ate everything in my food plan. I started to feel a bit sore later in the night. Think I may have worked some muscles a bit.

Went down to Elwood beach with Alex and Kostas as it’s super hot here in Melbourne right now. Kicked the soccer ball a bit and relaxed in the sea.
